Amazon UK Glitch Sells Thousands of Products For a Penny

The Grassy Knoll Re:Amazon is run by Nazis (138 comments)

The downside is that it has taken TD nearly 2 weeks to refund my money each time I have tried this, in spite of their stated policy to refund within IIRC, 48 hours.

I am greedy and played unfair with a company, now they're playing unfair with me. Wah!

Montana Lawmakers Propose 85 Mph Speed Limit On Interstates

The Grassy Knoll Re:German autobahn is not an example for you guys (525 comments)

>The French are (statistically) terrible drivers, but the autoroutes are the places you're least likely to see accidents (in my experience anyway).

Isn't that because they're almost always empty (in my experience anyway), maybe because of the tolls?

The Grassy Knoll Re: What about the UK? (218 comments)

Pi Day outside America is 31/4/2014. Next year will be the closest we have ever come to the perfect Pi Day as the date will be 31/4/15 in two digit year format.

Thirty days hath September,

EU Proposes To Fit Cars With Speed Limiters

The Grassy Knoll Re:No need for cameras. (732 comments)

Hour is abbreviated "h", not "hr". The latter is the country code for Croatia (Hrvatska). Or hecto-roentgen in 7-bit.

Why isn't there a mod option "-1 Boring"? .

Scores of Vulnerable SAP Deployments Uncovered

The Grassy Knoll Re:Security and Market Dominance by Obscurity (118 comments)

The software suite is a canned solution that you then slightly (or vastly) modify to tailor to your business needs.

I always thought that you installed SAP, then re-configured your business to work with it :-)

No Black Hole Or Magnetic Monopole: Tunguska Really Was a Meteor

The Grassy Knoll Re:Hm, wasn't aware there was any controversy (128 comments)

Well, according to 2000AD Prog 81 (yes, I'm old), some researchers were sent back in time to find out what happened. They appeared over Tunguska moments before the explosion, were converted to anti-matter and Bob's your uncle. Florix Grabundae .

Hackers Steal Keyless BMW In Under 3 Minutes

The Grassy Knoll Re:Nice to know... (486 comments)

As an owner of a Triumph Spitfire, I used to pop the bonnet (hood) and take the rotor arm with me.

Good luck starting it up without THAT...

On a related note, we Spitfire owners never lock our car doors because of the insurance excess payable on repairing a sliced-open soft top...

Google Founders' Jets Caught On WSJ's Radar

The Grassy Knoll Re:great for terrorists (427 comments)

What paranoia! How many terrorists do you think there actually are, and why would they waste their time on plotting to "off" someone who my grandma probably hasn't even heard of? It's this sort of thinking that, for example, allows governments to implement the ban on liquids in airplanes, and not rescind it even in the face of evidence. Sorry, but can we think before knee-jerking* terrorism into the debate? * (I think I just verbed a noun, by the way)... .
