Australian Schools Go iPad-Crazy

TheSeer2 Re:Waste of Money (293 comments)

Educational institutions don't pay anywhere near RRP for Apple products.

Android tablets are ALREADY here. Haven't heard of them? They suck. The ones that are coming, could be good, but they're not here now.

Like Google's Chrome, Mozilla To Silently Update Firefox 4

TheSeer2 Re:User Account Control (287 comments)

You obviously haven't actually used 7 (though your criticisms are somewhat more valid for Vista) if you think there's too many UAC prompts. :P

Firefox 3.5.1 Released

TheSeer2 Re:slow start for _some_ (147 comments)

It was user situation dependent. Firefox was reading all of a user's temp files to seed its RNG or something along those lines so if you had a lot of large temp files your startup time would be quite large.

Regardless, it still takes 5x Chrome's startup time with the fix so... peh.

Love how you try to equate to unequal situations there with a nice little ending statement. Doesn't work.

Google's Amazing Browser Experiments

TheSeer2 Re:I'll take my Firefox add-ons instead , thanks (234 comments)

I thought the lack of adblock and noscript would be an issue when switching - but it really isn't. The much more streamlined, speedier experience just makes up for it (well, it doesn't "make up" for it since I realised the ads just don't bother me - adblock, solving a problem I didn't know I had!).

Your post made sense until (and after) I got to the part where you mention offshoring and outsourcing. How is that (conceptually) white collar theft?

TheSeer2 Re:Has nothing to do with linux, OS X, BSD, hurd . (641 comments)

The DRM that caused so many of the problems? Where's your source on this... as far as I know the DRM is *inactive* and is just there for *future purposes* (it's the ICT flag which while not confirmed, dates of 2010 and 2012 are the common ones floated for when it'll be activated).
