This is probably to allow some smarts on both sides - IIRC the 85W charger is the Macbook Pro charger, but it can also work with the standard Macbook.

If I remember correctly, this is a layer on top of a SyncML server - install one on a local box and you'll have the syncing you want.

From what I remember, Bittorrent usage over TOR routinely cripples exit notes until they block the traffic. Leave TOR for the people who really need it.

This is possibly more insightful than it seems. Canonical seem to be pushing more and more in their own direction, rather than anything the Ubuntu community does. This is good for Ubuntu, but potentially bad for users as more and more changes are made to the GNOME interface, the browser etc etc.
