Should Microsoft Give Kids Programmable Versions of Office?

ZeroSerenity Visual Studio Express (226 comments)

That exists. I'm not sure programmable office is entirely necessary when they're giving that away.

Why No Executive Order To Stop NSA Metadata Collection?

ZeroSerenity Politics (312 comments)

He wants Republicans to vote no on such a change so it can make them look bad. If he just did it by EO it would make him look bad in eyes of Republicans for abusing Executive power.

Thor: The Dark World — What Did You Think?

ZeroSerenity Bit too fast, bit too much Loki (233 comments)

Subject. While it does clock in at two hours, it does seem to come and go a bit too quickly. Most importantly is the "rivalry" between Jane Foster and Sif being hinted at (twice), but never going anywhere. At times, Loki stole the show in terms of just being there and while he's a joy to watch, I think he's going to be a bit too overplayed.

Still, movie is balls to the wall hilarious at times, (*SPOILER*) especially when we see Loki as Captain America. Overall I think the first Thor was better but this one was certainly pretty awesome.

Ask Slashdot: What Are the Hardest Things Programmers Have To Do?

ZeroSerenity User Manuals (473 comments)

I'm a developer and I would put this up as the hardest thing I have to do. Since I know the guts of why and how something works, I tend to have a really hard time writing particularly helpful User Manuals to other people. There is no group within us that spends time writing manuals (so I have to do my own) and it does require me throwing the manual at somebody somewhat unsuspecting and hoping it makes sense to them.

Why Is Microsoft Setting More Money On Fire With Surface 2?

ZeroSerenity $853 Million Dollars is Pitiful? (616 comments)

We just got done saying GTA V's cool $1 Billion was awesome, so why is this judged by a different standard? $150 Million can't mean that much.

Though, I was hoping for the removal of Surface RT and having all devices be "Pro". That would have them devastate the market, but they won't seem to do it.

Let's not bury our problems. Instead, let's bury some tree saplings and have them sort this carbon dioxide problem out.

The Physics Behind Waterslides

ZeroSerenity Re:Staying on the Tube (79 comments)

How heavy are you? I know some of the tube slides at BB tend to cause hydroplaning problems with people too light to properly break the water's surface tension. Perhaps your level of inertia is causing your airborne lift.

Americans do not agree with science

ZeroSerenity ZeroSerenity writes  |  more than 4 years ago

ZeroSerenity writes "In a not so stunning article, it is thought by many that science is not something you have to agree with. A survey conducted by Pew Research Center states that "...nearly 9 in 10 scientists accept the idea of evolution by natural selection, but just a third of the public does. And while 84 percent of scientists say the Earth is getting warmer because of human activity, less than half of the public agrees with that." In addition just 27% of the respondents said that the advances of the US in science are its greatest achievement, down from 44% ten years ago. I fear for my own country's progress if people aren't this interested in science."

Sonic the Hedgehog joins Brawl

ZeroSerenity ZeroSerenity writes  |  more than 6 years ago

ZeroSerenity writes "After ages of fans begging for it, Sonic the Hedgehog is finaly going to be included in a Super Smash Bros. game. "The one whose Smash appearance has been most desired dashes in from far away at supersonic speed." After being given Solid Snake in the teaser trailer and now Sonic the Hedgehog just two months before it's release, could there possibly be any more guests or characters added to the game at this stage?"
