Zxern Re:You Kids Get Off My Lawn (289 comments)

Life expectancy has been roughly the same for thousands of years. The only difference is that babies today live more often than they die.

Quickflix Wants Netflix To Drop Australian VPN Users

Zxern Re:International Copyright (172 comments)

For the same reason source code for old dead games never get released. It might be worth more in the future sometime. They might want to setup their own streaming service someday in the future so why sell the rights and miss out on the potential profits.

Anita Sarkeesian, Creator of "Tropes vs. Women," Driven From Home By Trolls

Zxern Re:Stupid is as stupid does (1262 comments)

Really? Apparently you haven't read any of the feminist responses to the anti-feminist movement. Plenty of hate being spread there by women.

Anita Sarkeesian, Creator of "Tropes vs. Women," Driven From Home By Trolls

Zxern Lead by example (1262 comments)

The problem with Anita is that she made her subject/focus the negative aspects of gaming, rather than the good aspects and what changes she would like to see.

When you approach a subject from a negative prospective you automatically put people on the defensive. You're less likely to get people to see your point of view that way.

She would be better off promoting those games that do show strong female characters and story telling. Highlight what makes them good examples and then talk about what changes she would like to see in the industry as whole.

Delays For SC Nuclear Plant Put Pressure On the Industry

Zxern Re:Georgia customers billed for it since 2009 (142 comments)

The only problem with that method is that incentives cutting corners to meet the deadlines. Not a good idea to sacrifice quality for timeliness in a nuclear power plant.

Babylon 5 May Finally Get a Big-Screen Debut

Zxern Re: And so it begins... (252 comments)

Which thankfully isn't a problem nowadays. Otherwise shows like Game of thrones or Walking Dead would suffer the same fate and poor ratings that Babylon 5 did.

Old Apache Code At Root of Android FakeID Mess

Zxern Re:Open Source Dangers (127 comments)

One of the down sides of having fast, powerful and cheap computers today is that most users won't notice when they've been infected with a virus.

The Daily Harassment of Women In the Game Industry

Zxern Re:The fine art of male bonding. (962 comments)

That's because women don't confront each other directly. They're far more viscous and nasty behind the other persons back than any man is face to face and they hold grudges far longer.

Microsoft Kills Off MapPoint and Streets and Trips In Favor of Bing Maps

Zxern Re:And, probaly, nothing of value was lost. (174 comments)

Streets and trips wasn't an online service. It was an offline map product. You could connect a real gps to your laptop, load this software on it and you have turn by turn directions way back in the late 90's.

How Apple Can Take Its Headphones To the Next Level

Zxern Re: Seriously? (196 comments)

More likely is that the lightning connector on the phone is going to crap out that much faster.

All they really need to do is spend a little more money on the 3.5mm connector and there wouldn't be an issue.

Just look at all the people ticketed for not wearing their seat belt every year. You don't think they'd buy a car without one if it were available?
