Mexico's Stolen Radiation Truck: It Could Happen In the US

aesiamun Re:FEAR! (105 comments)

Inefficient, expensive products that are not going to be subsidized forever...It is not the future.

We cannot live off of solar alone. It is a good companion, but 100% solar is a dream. Nuclear is proven and newer technologies are safe. The energy consortium does not want people using nuclear because it makes them irrelevant with backyard nukes being actively researched and developed today. Let's sell the concept that it's dangerous...that's why we're seeing nuclear 'fallout' in California from Fukushima in the news.

Let's make everyone scared.

Control the populous with fear! Let's figure out a way to make them even more afraid of nuclear power so we can continue selling snakeoil solutions like solar and wind energy products.

Typically, if the value of your house skyrockets, so do your taxes.

Taxes go up, so does your mortgage...and then you can't afford to live there.

Are they willing to pay more for security? They are willing to pay their normal cell phone contract amount and $200 for a high end phone.

How many people would pay for security software for their phone?

aesiamun (862627) writes "Currently, as a TimeWarner customer, I am using their only HD solution. The Explorer 8300 is one of the worst DVRs I've ever used. The software is buggy, the box locks up, it's's just crap. I had a Tivo when I was using DirecTV and I loved the layout but when I moved back to TimeWarner, I couldn't use it.

Having used MythTV and played around with it, I would absolutely love to take 4 TimeWarner digital settop boxes, 4 TV tuner cards and my 3TB of networked storage and create the ultimate that would work with all the offerings that I have available to me. But I don't want that monstrosity near my television. Does anyone know any company in the world that offers an aesthetically pleasing, quiet and fully upgradable (meaning i don't have to wait for them to upgrade) solution that has HDMI, digital audio and MythTV? If not, what are people doing in this situation? I would like to get rid of the DVD player, the cable box and just keep my "solution", XBox360 and my stereo receiver under the television."

Gamespy + WAR Beta = Epic Fail

aesiamun aesiamun writes  |  more than 6 years ago

So I get this email, it's Preview Weekend for Advanced orders of WarHammer Online.

Only they require me to download from Fileplanet/Gamespy which seems to be suffering a death not unlike a squirrel getting run over by a Sherman Tank...

And the torrent must be populated with comcast users as I can't get anything over 29.0 KB/s down but am seeding at 50KB/s.

I love exclusive distribution techniques such as this.
