The software is buggy, the box locks up, it's slow...it's just crap. I had a Tivo when I was using DirecTV and I loved the layout but when I moved back to TimeWarner, I couldn't use it.
Having used MythTV and played around with it, I would absolutely love to take 4 TimeWarner digital settop boxes, 4 TV tuner cards and my 3TB of networked storage and create the ultimate that would work with all the offerings that I have available to me. But I don't want that monstrosity near my television. Does anyone know any company in the world that offers an aesthetically pleasing, quiet and fully upgradable (meaning i don't have to wait for them to upgrade) solution that has HDMI, digital audio and MythTV? If not, what are people doing in this situation? I would like to get rid of the DVD player, the cable box and just keep my "solution", XBox360 and my stereo receiver under the television."
