Ghostwriter Reveals the Secret Life of WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange

aichpvee Re:So? (359 comments)

The personal failings of one man seem mighty inconsequential against the failings of government and large corporations that have been exposed by Wikileaks. The latter definitely does not deserve national and international media hype at the same time that the former is getting buried.

How Can Nintendo Recover?

aichpvee Re:Erm, the 3DS (559 comments)

Nintendo games are too much of a chore to play these days. I just don't have the time to put up with slow dialog scrolls that can't be skipped or hours of tutorializing on systems and controls that have been standard for decades. Even if they put their games on other hardware I'd probably avoid their games, and I'm definitely not going to buy their hardware to put up with that crap on maybe three or four games I'd have any interest in for the lifetime of the device.

Nintendo may not need to change to survive, but they definitely need to change to win back customers like me.

Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 Pass 10% Market Share, Windows XP Falls Below 30%

aichpvee Re:It doesn't matter (470 comments)

I like Windows 8 and don't care how many idiots with mod points think otherwise. With Windows 8.1 they've decided to waste space on the taskbar for a completely pointless Start screen button, so it'll unfortunately have to suck my balls for now.

Archive.org Hosts Massive Collection of MAME ROMs

aichpvee Re:42.8GB ZIP (193 comments)

At the current download speeds it's going to take 2+ years to finish. Pretty inconvenient when you have to download everything to get at even one of the contained files.

Of course I don't actually give a fuck, since I don't have anywhere near enough time to waste on 20 year old arcade games. But if I were the sort to want any of this, it'd be a rather long wait to get anything.

GP is saying that the amount of electricity being "wasted" by the bulbs in the form of heat would be more efficiently turned into heat using a furnace.

Fundraiser For "White Male" Illness Dropped

I wasn't trying to imply you'd find anything that matters on slashdot. Pretty sure fewer people would read the site if it contained anything like that.

Who Will Obama Choose As Copyright Czar?

aichpvee Re:Not the good professor (174 comments)

That really depends upon your definition of strong. If strong means strong arm thug for the copyright industries, then Lessig probably isn't the right kind of strong. If strong means possibly having a reasonable, pragmatic approach and not caving to pressure from said industries, Lessig might not do so badly.

Fundraiser For "White Male" Illness Dropped

aichpvee Re:Update (241 comments)

I'm going to guess that most (if not all) of these idiots are white themselves. This is why I'm against political correctness, just another way to confuse the ignorant and stupid away from what actually matters.

OMG where are my mother-f%#&ing ponies?!!?!?

YourLittlePony (631243) writes "As many of you know, today is April the 1st. A day usually set aside for a non-stop parade of lies and slanderous stories all in the name of good fun. But this year it has been ruined by Cowboy Kneel and his band of un-merry men. Look around /. and you will see that there is no pink. No outrageously lying stories. But most of all there aren't any PONIES!

How to build a high quality foes list.

aichpvee aichpvee writes  |  more than 9 years ago Today we are going to take a look at building a /. foes list of the quality that is highest. This will be an on-going process, so make sure to check my foes list often for future tips and pointers.

First I will add all of the Gentoo fanbois. This is going to be a BIG help to expanding my list. Though out of respect to them as fellow (I use the term loosely) Linux users I will not be adding those who admit that they are lame for using Gentoo but use it anyway.

Then I'll follow this up with the slam-dunk of foes list tricks. I'll add all of the mac fanbois. These kids run "unix" because they are so "31337" and not Linux so no special treatment here, they ALL go on no questions aksed.

If your foes list is still looking a little limp (which it shouldn't) you can always pad those numbers by adding Fedora fanbois (they are still around, right?) and the ever-present Windows fanbois.

The last tip for today is a little word of warning. Many of these dangerous and wild groups are likely to scan their freaks lists and then put you on their own foes list. Besides being foe list cheating they also have a tendency to troll their foes list and mod people down whenever they get mod points while boosting their fellow fanbois for asinine comments featuring "intuitability" and phrases like "omfg 4pp13 |2 60|)!!?!>?/!!?!?"

In a future edition we will be taking a look at how to pad your friends list, though that will be an advanced article only recommended for equally advanced users.

Mac users SUCK

aichpvee aichpvee writes  |  more than 9 years ago Mac users are the lamest people ever. They all think that a 500$ "computer" without a monitor or keyboard (I can see why they wouldn't care if it was missing that shitty apple mouse) is somehow a bargain basement price. They seem to think that it's so low that everyone should be running out to buy six so they can have the joy of running OSX on that many machines.

Well I've got news for them. OSX is garbage. Its interface is fucking ugly. It's nearly impossible to do anything useful on one. The complete garbage that is the apple wm doesn't even allow for multiple desktops or window shading (a fucking feature that macs had a LONG time ago and have since lost).

Just when I thought the mac lusers' lameness had forever been eclipsed by the moronic antics of the gnome crowd Steve Jobs has to pull a new trick out of his bag of lame.

Really kids, you're better off with a Barbie B-Bright "laptop" than one of those POS mac minis.

That is all. Please leave your inane flames and trolls below.

aichpvee aichpvee writes  |  more than 10 years ago Why would anyone pay 2000$ for to have to use this hardware under MacOSX? My left nut has more power, and a better looking GUI too.

Dual 1.8GHz PowerPC G5
900MHz frontside bus/processor
512K L2 cache/processor
256MB DDR400 SDRAM
Expandable to 4GB SDRAM
80GB Serial ATA
8x SuperDrive
Three PCI Slots
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra
64MB DDR video memory
56K internal modem

Additional: You also get integrated nic and wifi with my left nut, which you have to pay more for from apple.

If you have good karma on /. then you obviously are aligned with the hordes of morons who frequent /. And I can't think of anything more horrible in life than being associated with windows-lovers and their linux-bound counterparts who follow redhat, manduck, and debian.
