Why Some Devs Can't Wait For NoSQL To Die

ajung BS (444 comments)

I call: bullshit

We are using object-oriented databases like the ZODB for ten years when the data model is not relational oriented
We are using relational databases when your data is relational
We are using relational databases and object-oriented databases together in the same app when we need both
We are not using MySQL when we are in need of a *real* database.

Use the right tool for each problem - only idiots use a RDBMS for all and everything.

Is Getting Acquired Good For FOSS Projects?

ajung OSS projects should not be owned by companies (131 comments)

An OSS project is only in danger if there is project is backed only by commercial companies. OSS projects driven by a community and backed by some foundation (e.g. Zope foundation, Plone foundation, Python foundation) are unlikely in such a danger.

Stallman Unsure Whether Firefox Is Truly Free

ajung The world (905 comments)

would appreciate if Stallmann would just shut up.
His penetrant narrow-mindedness about commercial software is just annoying. A solid mixture of open-source and properitary software is the solution. Not everything can be free, not everything must be free
