Anxiety and IT?

b0ttle Re:All the usuals + Meditation (347 comments)

Meditation is the key to self-control and well being. Since I started doing it everyday, my life has improved 100%. It helps you to react a lot better to the frequent changes of life.

I think everyone should practice it. They should teach it in schools.

Obesity May Accelerate Brain Aging

b0ttle Re:These morally chiding "correlation" studies (289 comments)

... the fact that the obese are often geographically concentrated in areas (like the American South) where public education is shit and poverty is high.

"American obesity rates are the highest in the world with 64% of adults being overweight or obese"

The Pirate Bay to Become a Distributed Storage Cloud?

b0ttle Are they really serious? (131 comments)

How the hell are they going to guarantee the keeping of the data? What if I delete the data from my storage? Of course they could make redundant pieces on other nodes, but that doesn't solve the problem.

Staying In Shape vs. a Busy IT Job Schedule?

b0ttle The solution is simple (865 comments)

Find another job. Slavery and staying in shape doesn't go together, unless you're in some manual labor kind of slavering.

Could a Meteor Have Brought Down Air France 447?

b0ttle Re:EMP Testing (884 comments)

Car travel is not mundane if you show it to someone from the 700 B.C.

But I agree with you that the idea seems absurd, planes are an incredible achievement. But what really blows my mind are spacecrafts. It's so absurd to think we have a spacecraft orbiting a planet that lies aproximatelly 1.316.462.400 kilometers from us.

Ancient volcano defrosting on Mars

b0ttle b0ttle writes  |  more than 5 years ago

b0ttle (1332811) writes "On January 16th, the HiRISE camera on board the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter snapped a bizarre picture from a defrosting volcano on Mars.
The picture puzzled the scientists because it shows patches of dark spots in some areas of the snow covered volcano, maybe an indication of ancient lava outflows. They will continue to snap pictures of the region as the summer season unrolls to see how the ices continues to melt."

Google and NASA working on Interplanetary Internet

b0ttle b0ttle writes  |  more than 5 years ago

b0ttle (1332811) writes "In an initiative energized by Google Vice-President and Chief Internet Evangelist Vint Cerf, the International Space Station could be testing a brand new way of communicating with Earth. In 2009, it is hoped that the ISS will play host to an Interplanetary Internet prototype that could standardize communications between Earth and space, possibly replacing point-to-point single use radio systems customized for each individual space mission since the beginning of the Space Age."
