Canada Introduces Privacy Reforms That Encourage Warrantless Disclosure of Info

beefoot don't give a damn (99 comments)

Sadly, complaining and whining here won't make a difference. Start writing to your MP expressing your disapproval of this bill. I did.

Meet the Diehards Who Refuse To Move On From Windows XP

beefoot who cares (641 comments)

There are people who refuse changes. Some people still drives a 15 years old clunker even though it costs them more to keep the piece of crap than getting a new car. Some people still use a 15 years old laptop even though the battery does not last more than 2.5 seconds and the keyboard keys are all worn out. Who cares.

Apple Launches CarPlay At Geneva Show

beefoot my car (264 comments)

I don't know about you. The car I'm driving is 9 years old and it is still going strong. I will likely keep it for another 3-4 years at least. Gadgets don't last this long. I'm afraid it might work wonder now but in a few years it is an eye sore every time I get into the car. I wouldn't buy car comes with this kind of crap. Give me bluetooth and auxiliary jack. I'm satisfied.

Wozniak To Apple: Consider Building an Android Phone

beefoot Re:They can't give up control (249 comments)

Never say never. Their market share (iphone and various sizes of its cousin) are down and there is no way it will ever go back up. The next thing we know, iphone market share will be down to single digit. Of course the company will continue doing well for the years to come. Look at blackberry, their major break through was with RIM 950. It took them 12-15 years to collapse. The market is more competitive now. I'm betting Apple has at least 7-8 years of time left if they don't do anything -- i.e. we will continue seeing record profits year after year until the end its sudden death.
