New 'Reloaded Edition' of Alien Arena Open Source FPS Released

billsayswow Anonymous Reader (71 comments)

By 'anonymous reader' do they mean their advertising department? How many "this game is-coming/just-came out" stories do we need on the front page?

Activision Turning The Walking Dead Into a First-Person Shooter

billsayswow We're on a roll today! (102 comments)

First there was the article about some website's poorly-written preview of the "Steampunk Action-Adventure game Dishonored", and now there's this. All that's left is for Ubisoft to announce "Tim Burton Presents: Dexter vs The Joker", and Hot Topic will be forced to start stocking a video game section.

This IS the website that now posts articles simply stating that a game came out that day.

billsayswow All That Aside (58 comments)

All the talk of whether or not Steampunk is total rubbish aside... is it just me or is this guy a terrible writer? Is this what passes for journalism these days?

Steve Jobs Dead At 56

billsayswow Burial plans. (1613 comments)

They've got a lovely burial plot picked out for Steve Jobs, it's a walled garden at a premium price that only the groundskeeper is allowed to enter. You may only leave specific kinds of flowers that you purchase from the groundskeeper, and upkeep only continues until the first rain, heatwave, or below-freezing day, then he has to be reburied in a marginally nicer walled garden at a steeper price.

I've had this idea before. Thought that's what happened to Pluto, when I was was in 3rd grade. I don't see anyone nominating me for a Nobel prize!

Hubble Makes Millionth Observation

billsayswow What was it? (38 comments)

The One Millionth Observation? "What's the deal with airline food [...]" The 1,000,001st was about how women are different than men, followed by an anecdote about the Hubble, its spouse, and brushing teeth.

billsayswow Re:Or you could save yourself millions... (350 comments)

I don't know why comment is scored at -1, since this is the first thing I thought when I saw the story. Change a few text files and suddenly you're back in business. It's kinda sad that that's all it really takes to sidestep such a law, though, since they'd still be the exact same characters, just with a number ticked upwards by one.

Samsung Gives Free Phones to iPhone Users

billsayswow billsayswow writes  |  more than 4 years ago

billsayswow (1681722) writes "CNN has a story from Wired about how many iPhone 4 users who voiced their complaints on Twitter were contacted by Samsung, and offered a free Samsung Galaxy S, a new phone that runs Android 2.1, if possible with their carrier and contract. Samsung themselves have confirmed that this is a legitimate offer, and not a scam.

A spokesperson for Samsung: "Recently there has been a real increase in online activity from consumers dissatisfied with some of our competitors' products. We decided to contact a cross section of individuals to offer them a free Samsung Galaxy S as a replacement, as we're confident that once people have the phone in their hands, they'll see how impressive it is for themselves.""
