Are Complex Games Doomed To Have Buggy Releases?

craagz Re:Mass (D)Effect (362 comments)

There are many, many companies that do not have these problems. They create good engines, good software that works. They test it thoroughly and deliver a working product.

Guess Duke Nukem Forever is delayed because of this.

Are Complex Games Doomed To Have Buggy Releases?

craagz Re:And the definition of "work"? (362 comments)

Software runs on various systems and can break or run slow (Vista) or get buggy if it is run on improper systems. Even books get different editions and reprints and addenda sometimes becz it was missed first time round.
What I am saying is, if the product performs well in its standard environment, a customer can't ask for money back. You cannot use a phone under water and say it broke.

On the other hand, if game developers are indeed running after bells and whistles instead of a well running game, they ought to be some way of compensation to the consumer, maybe a coupon or a free add-on, an not full money-back guarantee.

Chance for another Regime Change

craagz craagz writes  |  more than 6 years ago The Recent Cyclone in Burma has left the country devastated. Now The UN and other agencies are rushing to provide help to the Burmese government. UN has , halted the supply due to the fact that the Burmese government (read , junta) is hashing up any attempts at proper distribution of the relief. I wanted to know if USA is interested in a Regime change / Operation Burmese Freedom or something of that sort.

India's Bharat Ratna

craagz craagz writes  |  more than 6 years ago The Highest Honorary Award in India, the Bharat Ratna has not been awarded to a person since 7 years. This year, there had been a great political and media debate over who deserves to be awarded the Bharat Ratna resulting in another year with no award. The Complete List of awardees points to the fact that Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation has not yet received it, even though the award can be given posthumously. Does he deserve this award, being an international icon?
