Are the World's Religions Ready For ET?

craigminah Aliens = God? (299 comments)

Thinking about all the alien looking drawings in Mayan culture, stories of Atlantis, all the star-aligned cultures (Egyptian, Mayan, Easter Island, Stone Henge, etc.), stories from the Bible that seen extraterrestrial, etc. could it be that humans were put here by aliens and that humans in fact are aliens? If we evolved here, why do we sunburn so easily, why are we so different from all other animals on Earth, why are are biological clocks tuned for a 25 hour day? I've thought a lot of creatures on this planet looked alien but it's an interesting thought to me. Heck, dragons, zombies, and all the other "monster stories" could have been originated/existed on our alien forefathers home planet. I know this sounds kooky, but it's something I'm curious about and would like to hear what others think.

Use of Forced Labor "Systemic" In Malaysian IT Manufacturing

No. "Capitalism is an economic and political system in which a country’s trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state." - Oxford Dictionary

Surprise! More Than Twice As Much Mercury In Environment As Thought

craigminah Re:And don't forget mercury in the CFLs... (173 comments)

If you know anything about history it's the Republican party that freed the slaves and, "It emerged in 1854 to combat the Kansas–Nebraska Act, which threatened to extend slavery into the territories, and to promote more vigorous modernization of the economy." Democrats try to change history through repeated rhetoric saying what they want to be the truth and all the youth who get their news solely from Facebook or Twitter parrot their statements in a zombie-like monotone.

Surprise! More Than Twice As Much Mercury In Environment As Thought

craigminah Re:And don't forget mercury in the CFLs... (173 comments)

Rather than post something intelligent you point your finger at "those rascally Republicans"? CFLs are gnarly and contain mercury...EPA directions for cleaning a CFL break should scare people, but they are a small part of the problem (soon to be worse as CFLs really start filling our landfills). Those Republicans aren't anti-science no matter how many times you Liberals claim as such.

Why Women Have No Time For Wikipedia

craigminah Re:Discrimination (579 comments)

How about we admit men and women are different, with different interests, and desires? Who gives a crap if men and women do the same thing as long as nothing stopping them from trying? Eliminate discrimination from the selection process and I bet women still don't give a crap about Wikipedia or many other "male-dominated" fields...why must we force equal distribution of gender/race/etc in everything? Again, make sure the selection process is fair and let things be.

U.S. Senator: All Cops Should Wear Cameras

craigminah Politicians also (643 comments)

Let's expand this idea and have every politician wear a camera so we see all the BS the do and say. Kind of like a front row seat in the sausage factory...

Parallax Completes Open Hardware Vision With Open Source CPU

craigminah Re:Limited utility. (136 comments)

Would it be easier to just use off the shelf items to build your data center and them spend money building an open source thing that sniffs all the packets looking for suspicious crap? I'm asking because I'm not sure it'd be easy to automate identification of "suspicious crap" in the outgoing data.

Jesse Jackson: Tech Diversity Is Next Civil Rights Step

craigminah Re:RACIST! (514 comments)

That's a good point but why are these jobs going offshore? Is it because we can't do the jobs or is it because they can get the job done for less pay? Probably a combination of the two.

Jesse Jackson: Tech Diversity Is Next Civil Rights Step

craigminah Re:RACIST! (514 comments)

Likewise, tech doesn't attract young black men and women because studying math, science, tech, and computers in school isn't cool. We need to make it cool so everyone gets an education worth a dam in our country. Until then, placing minorities in positions because they're a minority is doing a disservice to those who actually study and do well in school and it puts underqualified people in positions which weakens our tech fields. It all goes back to families then schools,

States That Raised Minimum Wage See No Slow-Down In Job Growth

States That Raised Minimum Wage See No Slow-Down In Job Growth

craigminah Short-Lived? (778 comments)

I bet jobs growth has increased because the delta between minimum wage in those regions and unemployment is great enough to motivate folks to get jobs. This will stabilize in a short time and I think jobs growth will stall and stagnate.

Obama Administration Says the World's Servers Are Ours

craigminah Re: Maybe, maybe not. (749 comments)

If this does hold up, and Microsoft releases the data stored in another country (which is ludicrous), then how long will it take for every other country in the world to buy equipment from a non-American or solely domestic company? This may backfire...like most of our administration's policies...

I commented on the fact the previous post to mine used little logic and instead referred to those "inbred morons who can't read do that in a nonunion Kansas plant." Seems like that AC is a pro-union bigot. Aay questions?
