About to hit 42 myself and completely agree. And we were thought to be completely rotten teens by adults.... today's kids make us look like genius saints.

Snowden Publishes "A Manifesto For the Truth"

darrellg1 Re:It's a shame (398 comments)

Exactly my point. I'm still confused how my comment got marked Troll though, unless people either thought I was being snarky or didn't read the whole thing. I'm in full support of Snowden.

darrellg1 It's a shame (398 comments)

that this will go to waste. No mainstream media in the US will report this, and if they do, it will be spun into a negative light. Now we got posters on here, the Guardian, and other sites that are obvious shills or just plain dumb.

Call Yourself a Hacker, Lose Your 4th Amendment Rights

darrellg1 Re:"and intent" (488 comments)

Ok. Let's play the title game, per your example "thief". You get labled as a thief because you stole some gum when you were 12. Sure doesn't imply you will steal something at 42.

NSA and GCHQ target Tor network that protects anonymity of web users

darrellg1 darrellg1 writes  |  about a year ago

darrellg1 (969068) writes "Top-secret NSA documents, disclosed by whistleblower Edward Snowden, reveal that the agency's current successes against Tor rely on identifying users and then attacking vulnerable software on their computers. One technique developed by the agency targeted the Firefox web browser used with Tor, giving the agency full control over targets' computers, including access to files, all keystrokes and all online activity.

One top-secret presentation, titled 'Tor Stinks', states: "We will never be able to de-anonymize all Tor users all the time." It continues: "With manual analysis we can de-anonymize a very small fraction of Tor users," and says the agency has had "no success de-anonymizing a user in response" to a specific request."
