Detroit: America's Next Tech Boomtown

dirtaddshp Re:It could happen (336 comments)

"compact metro areas" I lived in North Hollywood, CA which has those types of areas. It takes over an hour to drive 10 miles because every couple miles you sit in traffic for 20 minutes at a time... gridlock. Im done with that.

'Half' of 2012's Extreme Weather Impacted By Climate Change

dirtaddshp Superstorm Sandy? (417 comments)

I have noticed only people in NY call it a superstorm, anyone else would call it a cat 1 hurricane or TS. I feel this planet goes through cycles of extremes, pointing at humans without proof is just another way to tax people.

Schneier: The US Government Has Betrayed the Internet, We Need To Take It Back

dirtaddshp P2P works (397 comments)

I would say more peer networks would work well, unfortunately in alot of cases it would take alot of resources on the host computers but it may be the price to pay to keep your data yours. Look at BitTorrent, Bitcoin or most other P2P systems... government has a very hard time stopping their use.

Obama Admin Says It Won't Fight Looser Marijuana Laws, With Conditions

dirtaddshp Re:Discouraging underage use? (526 comments)

This is a NIDA study, and if you read their press releases they state "NIDA is only looking for negative effects of drugs, they disregard anything else they find" That is not science, that is bias! Also that was a rat study, not humans. And one more thing, if it was legalized it would be sold in liquor stores they would card... unlike drug dealers in the current legal situation.
