edsousa (1201831) writes "In a press release, Nokia Siemens Networks tell us about a new data rate record of 57.9Tbps over a link length of ~74mi (119km) set on a commercially deployed multi-mode optical fiber by ModeGap consortium that includes NSN, University of Southampton, Eindhoven Techincal University and others. This represents a 6-fold increase when compared to available commercial systems. Rober Ritcher, head of optical R&D expects that by 2020, 100 times this capacity will be possible." top

Hacker Redirects Barack Obama's site to hillaryclinton.com

Netcraft shows that a security weakness in Barack Obama's website has been exploited to redirect visitors to Hillary Clinton's website. Visitors who viewed the Community Blogs section of the site were instead presented with Clinton's website as a result of a cross-site scripting vulnerability.
While Clinton and Obama are battling it out in the political arena, security researchers are continuing to find vulnerabilities in the candidates' and supporters' websites.
