freeshoes Rugged on the outside, Windows on the inside (96 comments)

So it runs Windows? Who cares if it survives a fall or in Antarctica, as soon as you connect it to the net it will be infested with malware and virii!

Sinofsky Dismisses Trying To Take Over Windows Phone, Developers

freeshoes Re:Wouldn't surprise me if both sides are right. (70 comments)

Every person I have met that used the word silo in a business context coincidentally turned out to be the most annoying, corporate ass-licking mediocre under achieving loser.

$1,500,000 Fine For Sharing 10 Movies On BitTorrent

freeshoes Re:That's 10x the budget of all of those "films" (339 comments)

The punishment has to be high to make the risk not worth while. there might be a 1% chance of getting caught so 10x the cost as a punishment would make a clever thief extremely rich.

Facebook Loses Users, Satisfaction Higher at Google+

freeshoes It's Alive (274 comments)

Google+ is a frankenstein monster between Twitter and Facebook with Google Wave thrown in, something Microsoft would be proud of. If Google had any balls they would shut it down and sack anyone who backed it.

Book Review: Java Performance

freeshoes If you want performance (160 comments)

The more you abstract what's underneath the less performance you can achieve. Assembly vs C, C vs Java/C#/Python, Running code on a host vs a guest virtual machine, I think you get the point.

Nasa put men on the moon in the 60's so does that mean we should all be going on holiday (vacation) to the moon? Some technologies don't scale or are too expensive to mass produce.

Mathematics As the Most Misunderstood Subject

freeshoes Too abstract (680 comments)

As a standalone subject Math is too abstract, the relevant areas should be taught along side the subjects where it is applied. I think a lot of degrees could be cut down to a year or two. Cut out all the crap that no one needs to know and make that part of a further research degree. Revolutionize the education system with my ideas, or fall behind when I move to China and they listen to me.

Did the Windows Phone 7 Bomb In the US?

freeshoes Re:Well... (609 comments)

Same could be said for the IPhone. I know a few people who got a Windows phone and they have returned them due to crashes and the phone cutting off etc.

freeshoes Re:what ELSE can MS do with the images? (280 comments)

I want to live in a World where I can zoom into any place on earth and have HD realtime video, anywhere including inside people's homes. People who disagree with this must be terrorists or doing bad stuff. Ok you give away your privacy, but its worth it to never be bored again, ever!

A Decade of Agile Programming — Has It Delivered?

freeshoes Re:No (395 comments)

Modern like C and MS Access is a language? Don't put C and Java together, one is a efficient, correct level of abstraction, powerful language, the other is a bloated, slow, over protective, not that portable pile of junk. "But C is like a sharp tool you can shoot yourself" If you were cutting down a tree would you want to use a blunt axe, in case you were such a moron you would slice your own arm off?

Oracle Claims Google 'Directly Copied' Our Java Code

freeshoes Re:Here we go again (SCO) (675 comments)

Why would you want to rewrite that pile of crap. Java is all about bloat, and generic frameworks that can be used to do anything, but usually fail for your particular requirements. Anything you can write in Java you can write in C, with only a little over head.

Oracle Claims Google 'Directly Copied' Our Java Code

freeshoes Re:Here we go again (SCO) (675 comments)

Yeah who cares if the video is stuttering, as long as we (might) be able to run the media player on every system that has a JVM. John: "Hey this JMediaPlayer keeps stuttering" Joe: "Yeah but you can run it on you washing machine, maybe"
