Hindi is a language, Hinduism is the religion I think you meant. Hindi is spoken by many (not all) Indians, regardless of their religion.

South Korea Will Revisit Plan To Nix Evolution References in Textbooks

frodo from middle ea Re:Only 53% of South Koreans claim any religion (286 comments)

American Evangelical churches have money to burn, and are mostly the ones, who are behind this sort of nonsense. This sort of stuff is happening in many other countries too, including India, China (albeit in deep secracy), and many other Asian/African countries.

frodo from middle ea Re:Wow, atheist materialism? (286 comments)

Atheist will twist theory to fit facts, and theist will rather twist facts to fit theories. Where does materialism come in to picture ?

Everyone's a racist. It's just human nature, not some deep rooted evil as it is made out to be by politically correct people.

Making ZFS and DTrace Work On Ubuntu Linux

frodo from middle ea Re:ZFS on Linux (137 comments)

+1, After having used linux daily for more than 14 years, I have recently ventured in to the BSD land. And I like it a lot.

If you've been playing in Linux land, and never bothered with any of the *BSD, do yourself a favor and install one of the BSDs in a VM. You'll not be disappointed.

Ask Slashdot: Open Source Multi-User Password Management?

frodo from middle ea Re:KeepassX in a Dropbox folder (198 comments)

Okay, keepass could have a backdoor as well.

Keepass is opensource, if a backdoor existed, it would have been found out , reported , and closed for good. That's what open source is good at.

Getting the Most Out of SSH

frodo from middle ea Wow (284 comments)

Wow, ssh tunneling, and a few command line options , and screen, that's your ultimate SSH guide ?
I am impressed, not!

How about
- ssh master connection, for svn+ssh ?
- ssh agent forwarding
- opening ssh ports using knocking
- auto blacklisting with something like sshblack

I think the above are more advanced options than the ones mentioned in the article, no ?

What Happens To Your Files When a Cloud Service Shuts Down?

frodo from middle ea Re:Not an issue for Dropbox (592 comments)

Sigh, redundancy and backup are two completely different things. Don't believe me, delete a file from one of your dropbox synced PC, and see that file disappear from all the dropbox sync PC, when those PCs sync up.

Firefox 8.0 Released

frodo from middle ea Negative comments (383 comments)

What's with all the negative comments ?
My initial impression seems to be, this is very fast as compared to 7.0.1. Good work Firefox team, some of us still appreciate your hard work.

Now only if my company would switch from the horrible HP Quality Center to Jira, I would be set.

Things That Turbo Pascal Is Smaller Than

frodo from middle ea Pascal v/s C (487 comments)

When I first started learning Pascal, I had a real hard time wrapping my head around the concept of a Pointer, and struggled with pointers and related concepts like linked-lists etc. throught out the time I had to use Pascal. I was using the Schaum's book on Pascal.

But under 'C' it felt somehow very natural and easy to understand, never had a problem with 'C' pointers, and data structures. R.I.P. DMR, your book really opened my eyes to the wonderful world of computing.

Who modded this insightful ?
As if every single person in the world has a unique name, that they can trademark and sue everyone else for using it without their consent...(unless you're named parah salin of course), Secondly are you supposed to monitor all social networking websites to check if some one else is using the same name as yours.
