Singer Reportedly Outbids NASA for Space Tourist's Seat

incer Re:WTF is Sarah whatever ? (242 comments)

It's pretty simple: humans are a social species, and consequently those who manage to get at the top of the social pyramid are better off than the others. Human skills allow you to "use" other people to improve your position... If you can do a job very well, you can provide for yourself. If someone else is able to "use" your work for himself he can too, and can "use" multiple people's work as it requires less time than actual work, therefore multiplying his gain. That's how management works.

incer Re:don't buy the fucking thing then (760 comments)

Many people can fix a refrigerator, and any technician in the field can do it. Same goes for the car.
But try replacing an iPad (or whatever, it's not like Apple's the only problem here) screen without "certified training".

The word "bricking" is used for electronic devices which can't be fixed by taking them apart. With a car you'd just change the ECU or whatever.

Yeah, I know your position is desperate, but seriously, Celsius can't be rounded? And EVERYONE knows that body temperature is around 36C, that -10C is freaking cold and so on.... And if you want to play games, c'mon, water freezing at 32F? Boiling at 212F?
There's a reason the whole world uses Celsius.
