That's why it was called a massacre. One side basically lagged so much it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Antarctic Ice Bridge Finally Breaks Off

inflame Re:And I would say (505 comments)

Nope. I suggest you either :

- Start looking/calling for a new/another boat.
- Start looking at salvageable parts of the boat and and use them to build a newer, smaller boat.
- Get on the lifeboat and call for rescue.

Can someone please use a car analogy for this?

Uproar Over Netflix's New Instant Viewer

inflame Re:Handy Secret Commands! (575 comments)

It does seem like the default auto-bitrate tends to set things on the low side. Try control-shift-alt-b to manually select from the three available bitrates, and control-shift-alt-m for a menu of other interesting stuff.

than's not "handy", that's a handful. they could've made a better way to expose those commands since people could want higher bitrates if they have faster connections.

Faster-than-light Neutrinos closer to being confir

inflame inflame writes  |  more than 2 years ago

inflame (1339495) writes "The scientist at CERN who first published the faster-than-light neutrinos observations a couple months ago, have run additional tests, and have found similar results. "This is reinforcing the previous finding and ruling out some possible systematic errors which could have in principle been affecting it," said Antonio Ereditato of the Opera collaboration. "This additional test we made is confirming our original finding, but still we have to be very prudent, still we have to look forward to independent confirmation. But this is a positive result.""

The Proton Just got smaller

inflame inflame writes  |  more than 4 years ago

inflame (1339495) writes "A new paper published in Nature has said that the proton may be smaller than we previously thought. The article states 'The difference is so infinitesimal that it might defy belief that anyone, even physicists, would care. But the new measurements could mean that there is a gap in existing theories of quantum mechanics. "It's a very serious discrepancy," says Ingo Sick, a physicist at the University of Basel in Switzerland, who has tried to reconcile the finding with four decades of previous measurements. "There is really something seriously wrong someplace."'

Would this indicate new physics if proven?"
