Could Apple Kill Off Mac OS X?

joeytmann Re:The DoJ might object to that... (577 comments)

But they do have a dominance in the mobile device market. I bet the DoJ is keeping a close eye on Apples behavior.

Virus Shuts Down Australian Ambulance Dispatch Service

joeytmann Re:If.... (222 comments)

Get real you AC. The real world is a lot more complex than the "utopia" you seem to be in. I was just stating the fact that the choice to use a particular OS is usually dictated by the requirements of the application for a needed system.

joeytmann If.... (222 comments)

Windows is such crapware, as so many of you think, why don't you guys all get together and write an emergency management system that runs on a Linux distro? Now I obviously don't know for sure, but it seems likely the reason they are using Windows is that their application is written that way. Take a way the need to use Windows before bitching and moaning about them using Windows.

Google Sues US Gov't For Only Considering Microsoft

joeytmann Re:Why put out a request... (407 comments)

Have you considered that they may already have a rather large install of ActiveDirectory/Exchange and are basically just wanting to upgrade? Being that the the RFQ wasn't actually linked its kinda difficult to know what it exactly contained.

Google Sues US Gov't For Only Considering Microsoft

joeytmann Re:Why put out a request... (407 comments)

There are a lot of consulting firms out there that provide MS only solutions, which is what the DOI is asking for, not that MS being the implementors of said solution.

I'm not so sure. I work for a K12 with a couple thousand clients, and this makes me nervous. I really hope I can disable the App Store with an MCX setting so teachers/students aren't buying all sorts of crap and installing it the districts computers.

The neat part, as stated in the article, was the fact that they were dectected a ways out and not last minute, like most of the rest that have gone whizzing by.

joeytmann (664434) writes "Looks like someone has gone overboard with their Legos, creating a Lego chaingun.
From the little blurb article...
Heck yes. We've been trying to utilize our Lego collection for the production of projectile apparatuses ever since the Pirate sets stopped coming with those flickable cannons. Now it seems our sad attempts have been eternally showed up by Sebastian's ULTIMATE Lego Chaingun, which has 8 barrels, a 64 shot capacity, and an eleven rounds per second firing rate.
I wonder what I did with my Legos?"
