Lol, you lose. In everyoneses else's world they are still hi tech because of the learning curve involved to use them. Technology means progress which means education. With the three (technology, progress, education) you end up with a smart society that is ready to tackle problems that didnt even exist in 1928,

kdawson (3715) MOD PARENT RACIST! (163 comments)

I have been beliving at Slash Dot for a while we need a -1, RACIST moderation. It is sicking in this day & time how far some people will go to *HATE* one another. White people are inherently evil and need to ask the Black Race for forgivness on the whole. I for one am tired of it.

As Oparah said, bad white people will just have to DIE.

Your thoughts on the implementation ? Maybe if you get the RACIST moderation 3 times in a row your banned?

The Best Way To Blow the Whistle

kdawson (3715) Re:Duh (141 comments)

Correct. We live in the day & age where you can be expect to not be able to blow the whistle. It is like how courts are rigged. You have no 1st Ammendment rights and no 3rd Ammendment rights. (This is how the courts are rigged!)

What you need to do is just fly under the radar. Our standard of living hear in the good ol' US of A is higher than it is in other places like Europe or subsaharan africa, so deal with it! It could be a lot worse. You take the example of the N.S.A spygrid, but really what do you have to hide! Nobody is losing out buy you not leaking, so don't do it. 14 years is 14 years and it was YOUR fault if you "leaked" it. Cause and affect.

Taco Cowboy, I did some analsys on your ideas. They coincide with what I learned when I was researching the core information when I was in gradschool. Seeing that I was a young boy in Dallas when this happened and actually got to shake his hand earlier in the day but did not see the motorcade go through town, I was always awstruck about what happened that day. I made it ONE of my life goals to figure out what really happened. Through FOIA requests and a few Wiki Leaks of my own, I agree with you 110%.

I recommend watching this video. About 50-70% through it is self evident on who did it just through the convayence as shown here.

Warning At SC13 That Supercomputing Will Plateau Without a Disruptive Technology

kdawson (3715) SOLUTION for CMOS "band gap" (118 comments)

I suggest we go back a few levels and back to the 1970's when TTL was being replaced because of it's higher voltages. Remember back when core memory was replaced but before CMOSS? These were the TTL eras made by similar but NOT THE SAME transistors.

1. Silicone bandgap of CMOSS is higher than TTL
2. Gate length is more fabricable. (Fabricate the gates in Mexico; say they were made in USA)
3. Drain has "quantum clogging" problems in TTL but not CMOSS
4. Dopant levels make GaAs less commercially feasible.
5. Wafer sizes still dominated by "silicon" technology. It is not cheaper to go to more e-toxic and alien technologies. Far cheaper to stick with the wafers commercially produced today. GaAs and Indium Phosphate are like communion wafers!!!
6. Investors. We need to keep money at the fore front. Global depression is iminint. Must make cheep and available components with "WHAT WE HAVE" allready!!

TTL. I think its a good idea.

US Wary of Allowing Russian Electronic Monitoring Stations Inside US

kdawson (3715) Doomsday device! (232 comments)

It must be a doomsday device. There were those of us who fought against it, but in the end we could not keep up with the expense involved in the arms race, the space race, and the peace race. At the same time our people grumbled for more nylons and washing machines. Our doomsday scheme cost us just a small fraction of what we had been spending on defense in a single year. The deciding factor was when we learned that your country was working along similar lines, and we were afraid of a doomsday gap.

Is It Time For the US To Ditch the Dollar Bill?

kdawson (3715) End fiat currency! End THE FEDERAL RESERVE!!! (943 comments)

I saw this insightful comment and will post it here.

How about this! If we took the power away from a bunch of secret bank mobsters to PRINT MONEY and instead backed it with gold or some other finite, precious commodity, the dollar would retain its value.

I'm sick and tired of this implicit tax that I have just because I *HOLD* a dollar. Read Greenspan's "Gold and Economic Freedom" essay. Once it's started, that money which is printed out can only be repaid by printing more money. This is the shabby key to the (corporate/social) welfare state that exists today.

Goldbach Conjecture: Closer to solved?

kdawson (3715) kdawson (3715) writes  |  more than 2 years ago

kdawson (3715) (1344097) writes "The Goldbach conjecture is not the sort of thing that relates to practical applications, but they used to say the same thing about electricity. The Goldbach conjecture is reasonably well known: every integer can be expressed as the sum of two primes. Very easy to state, but it seems very difficult to prove. Terence Tao, a Fields medalist, has published a paper that proves that every odd number greater than 1 is the sum of at most five primes. This may not sound like much of an advance, but notice that there is no stipulation for the integer to be greater than some bound. This is a complete proof of a slightly lesser conjecture, and might point the way to getting the number of primes needed down from at most five to at most 2. Notice that no computers were involved in the proof — this is classical mathematical proof involving logical deductions rather than exhaustive search."

It's Official – Cell Phones are Killing Bees

kdawson (3715) kdawson (3715) writes  |  more than 3 years ago

kdawson (3715) (1344097) writes "Scientists may have found the cause of the world’s sudden dwindling population of bees – and cell phones may be to blame. Research conducted in Lausanne, Switzerland has shown that the signal from cell phones not only confuses bees, but also may lead to their death. Over 83 experiments have yielded the same results.

The signals cause the bees to become lost and disoriented. The impact has already been felt the world over, as the population of bees in the U.S. and the U.K. has decreased by almost half in the last thirty years – which coincides with the popularization and acceptance of cell phones as a personal device."
