Pop Artists Support Megaupload; Universal Censors

ksd1337 Re:Ah good old Kim (255 comments)

But they do have model rights, which means that the person who owns the copyright on the work can't immediately start using the work for commercial purposes without negotiating these rights with the performers. And the guy recording them most likely doesn't have the copyright; he'd have signed it away to the producer.

Cnet Apologizes For Nmap Adware Mess

ksd1337 Re:Perfect american corporate business practice (231 comments)

Hm, but it's a binary distribution of Nmap. GPL doesn't extend to binary output. Well, to be more specific, GPL only extends to output when a segment or whole of the source code is in the output. Binaries don't classify.

Voyager 1 Exits Our Solar System

ksd1337 Re:Amazing (341 comments)

I suppose. It depends what your goal is, though. This is why there are LTS editions of OSes. Sure, you're gonna lose improvements that can better utilize your hardware, but it'll last longer 'cause it's more stable.
