Ubuntu 13.10 Will Not Ship Mir By Default

madcat_sun Re:Chromebook (165 comments)

I think the use of grandma friendly its an error. It must be affordable to work whih everyone that needs or wants to. I dont say its a no good thing the chromium os, but I dont think it fits everyone needs , or it can take other approachs to do the same. Imagine this, a user with limited/low bandwith that expects to work with a chromium terminal..and needs to work now. Well, you are gonna to tell , there is little users in this side, but there is. And think of the say , its not wise to put all the eggs in the same basket (or like it must be saying in english) It recalls me of the time I was working in the it and we were selling machines with light versions of * linux distro , and then for ripping a cd you had to download the whole gnome 2 files over 28.8kbps. Greetings!!!

Ubuntu 13.10 Will Not Ship Mir By Default

madcat_sun Re:Chromebook (165 comments)

Chrome OS/Chromium OS is a Linux-based operating system designed by Google to work exclusively with web applications. Its way different than the easy to use grandma friendly linux desktop. Not everyone only needs to surf the net or check their mail,f,y,t* account . Perhaps Mint is more suited to this. PD. I dont support mir

And if you dont care about gnome/mate its ok. its healty to take what you need/like, not what others think you need/like. See ya!

Fedora Project Developer Proposes Layered, More Agile Design to Distribution

madcat_sun Re:What we'd really need (74 comments)

It depends in what you are meaning for " a very basic system on top of which all other distros are based." Why the same basic system has to be the same for a student, for a group, for a school or a goverment server? This is more marketing . It reminds me the time, after a gazillion bugs/error or hardware misconfiguration you used ti fullfil a w95 setup. Whoa!!!! and then what? You have the very basic system...doing nothing. Cmon men, just fire up a network installation disc, grab the packages you need and its done. Why do you need a ring to make things????

Microsoft Blames PC Makers For Windows Failure

madcat_sun no touch-whatever beats a good keyboard (913 comments)

IMHO: the win8 has suffered the same thing (in a diferent scale) that happen to gnome3. They made a Os (if this can be called so) for Apps (not aplications) and media Consumption not development, not creation thus sterile. You have to push menu after menu afeter menu to find another menu that says you what the machines is thinking you want to do, not that you want to do (I remeber in win95 and gnome 2.x you went after a right click et voila) I really think its a backdrop instead of add more hardware power and better software, you get the apus and apps for doing nothing!!! the only diference, if you want, is that gnome 3 its a graphic environment and win8 is... win8. =p

less troublesome gpus on linux

madcat_sun madcat_sun writes  |  about a year and a half ago

madcat_sun (2812213) writes "yo there. I own a aspire 5553 with a turion II X2 but unfortunately the screen got smashed by who knows... Then Im looking for a replacement but unfortunately, I have seen only these so called gpus thingys around(the A-x of amd and the iX of intel) Im afraid this things isnt at the same performance level that the old "pures" mics. I have 2 questions.
-does this SoC's (pun intended=) offer a benefit or are merely a whole bunch of marketing. I mean whats the purpose of this consuming 12 or 20 W if I cant do what I want to.
-since Im a linux friki, there are some rumors there saying these guys have several trouble to get up and running properly in linux (even bugs)
can you tell me some chipsets proved (or at least you think) it will not be so hard to work on? (I dont want fancy desktop effects or tablet like enviroments, only want to do my code right and see one vid.)
Thanks in advance!!!!"
