Halo Developer Bungie Reveals Destiny and Its Vision of MMO Gaming

majorme Basic coordination only, dev says (147 comments)

"If you have the basic coordination to play a shooter, you can experience all Destiny has to offer," Bungie co-founder Jason Jones explained.

Pretty much says it all - not going to be much of a game, unless you regard interactive movies as gaming experience. And books? Hah.. give a brake. No doubt this bs is going to make them a lot of coin, though. Good for them.

In Test, Windows 7 Vulnerable To 8 Out of 10 Viruses

majorme 32 or 64? I guess 32 (843 comments)

You call this a test worthy of coverage here? The guy don't even state whether he's using 32-bit version which I suspect is the case. This won't happen on 64-bit Vista/7.

Patch Re-Enables PhysX When ATI Card Is Present

majorme This reminded me of Intel's agenda with HAVOK (130 comments)

Am I the only one who noticed the lack of HAVOK games lately? Last I checked it was an open API. But (almost) no one is using it after they bought the company. I guess Intel is going to close the API for Larrabee cards which is kinda a sad.

Asus Slaps Linux In the Face

majorme Re:How much money changed hands? (644 comments)

I assume MS offered to help them with future support, custom versions of Windows for specific Asus configurations and such. I don't think they promised any cash or have threatened Asus with higher prices. That would be utterly stupid.

majorme wait what? (296 comments)

Dude, it's mid 2009 now and I am yet to see a game that beats late 2005 / early 2006 games in the graphics area. Except Crysis, that is.

And why do you bother speaking about the problems today's gamers are facing since you are not even one of them?

The point being... you got it all wrong.

Doom 4 Actor Interview, Setting & Release Hint

majorme majorme writes  |  more than 5 years ago

majorme (515104) writes "GGL wire has interviewed journeyman actor Brad Hawkins, who has done some serious motion capture work for Doom 4. Hawkins provided the author some photos from his time on the id Software set and revealed new information about the game's setting, namely: Civilians will be armed and headed to battle in the title, further lending credence to the idea that Doom 4 is set on Earth. He also expressed hopes that id Software will hire him for some facial recognition work after another 2 years of development, hinting that Doom 4 is not likely to be released any time sooner than Q4 2011."

EA offers C&C: Red Alert for free

majorme majorme writes  |  more than 6 years ago

majorme (515104) writes "As expected, Electronic Arts has released the original Command & Conquer: Red Alert for free to celebrate the release of the original Command & Conquer 13 years ago. As you may know, EA Games did exactly the same thing with Command and Conquer prior the release of Command & Conquer 3.

Red Alert can be installed under Windows XP, 98, 95 and ME. Vista is not officially supported, though it should be able to run on that OS as well.

Once again; The version you download is the exact same version as you could get on the Command and Conquer: The First Decade package, which means it's Windows XP compatible. Vista needs some extra effort though.

Head on to EA.com for extra info and download links."
