mat8913 Re:SSL protects the search queries? (264 comments)

Yes, your ISP will be able to tell that you are using Google from the IP address but all of the communication (that includes the web address) should be encrypted.

First Look At Ubuntu Touch, the Smartphone OS

mat8913 Re:don't we already have Linux for smartphones (60 comments)

Ubuntu for phones uses a fork of Linux

Most distros use their own fork of the linux kernel. There's nothing wrong with that

My most frequent OS migration path?

mat8913 Re:Windows - Ubuntu - Linux (413 comments)

I would've loved to get Slacware working but unfortunately it crashed when I installed Adobe Flash (I played alot of flash games) so I took the easy way out and settled with Debian.

My most frequent OS migration path?

mat8913 Windows - Ubuntu - Linux (413 comments)

For my 13th birthday I got a laptop and decided to try out Ubuntu on a virtual machine. I liked it, so I dual booted it with Windows 7. When I was 14, I replaced Ubuntu with Debian and got rid of the Windows partition. I'm now 15 years old and still happily using Debian. I didn't like libreoffice so I now write my assignments in Latex whenever possible. I still use Windows at school but most applications are cross-platform.

Student Expelled From Montreal College For Finding "Sloppy Coding"

mat8913 Highschool students put up with this too (633 comments)

Last year our school gave us laptops with Windows 7 (you may have read about them http://news.slashdot.org/story/09/09/27/0252235/au-government-to-build-unhackable-netbooks). Well needless to say, pretty much everybody got administrator access on the laptops within the first couple months of having them. Most of us got a three day suspension and our laptops wiped. Some were lucky bastards and either didn't get caught or managed to bullshit their way out of it.

Well actually God neither bad tempered nor crazy.

"In the same way, even though God has the right to show his anger and his power, he is very patient with those on whom his anger falls, who are destined for destruction."

Connecticut Groups Cancels Plan to Destroy Violent Games

mat8913 I wonder if pirated games count. (350 comments)

CDs are quite cheap these days. Just buy a bunch of blank CDs, burn your favorite violent video game to them and hand them in for $25 per disk.
