The NEW Current Status of Wireless

matth Very Interesting (1 comments)

This is interesting you bring this up. I've had discussions with other folks who think that fiber will one day take over wireless. I think it's a case by case basis where no one technology rules them all. In some areas, such as your remote location, wireless may be more cost effective to deploy since there's no need to put poles in the ground every few hundred feet.

In extremely dense areas though, like down-town Phili, wireless may or may not work as well as Fiber due to the sheer bandwidth requirements and limited spectrum.

Senator Goes After 'Brazen' OnStar Privacy Shift

matth I don't understand....how this works... (185 comments)

Doesn't OnStar use the cellular network to communicate information back to the "mother-ship"?

I find it hard to believe GM is actually footing the bill for all of these cars when the end-user isn't paying the on-star fee.

Can anyone explain how this is working?

Microsoft Causes Internal Family Strife

matth I'm now sick (543 comments)

Ok... after watching both of them, I'm now completely sick. Who was that camera person? The first rule of good videographing is that the person forgets they are watching a video.... this broke all those rules... I was kept having to refocus on the image as it swung all over the place... and it said nothing about the products... ick.
