But the negative connotation has been associated with the word hacker from it's first printed use in the 60s. Checkmate Athiests.

Type Ia Supernovae As Not-Quite-So-Standard Cosmological Candles

mikesum Talks at Google (33 comments)

Talks at Google has a great lecture by Alex Filippenko, called "Dark Energy and the Runaway Universe." There is a wonderful section talking about supernovae as a standard candle from about 17 minutes to 36 minutes, but I recommend the whole thing, as I find it fascinating. http://youtu.be/Guvv5olLxCQ

How Google Is Becoming an Extension of Your Mind

mikesum helped me with Tellabs 532L (154 comments)

I was trying to put in a cross connect for a ds0 in a Titan 532L, but was having no luck as I didn't have a Waddel cheat sheet.. I was putting a dacs II type command like
TCON::FROM 15602,TO 15602,TRSP, MUX
but had no joy, yielding an obtuse error message. So after bang my head against my desk and getting help from two co-workers I finally googled the machine and found "Chris Deputy's" page on Comcast with a command saying to loopback the ds0, but I knew it was actually to put in the cross-connect. Sure enough
TCON::FROM 15602,TO 15602,TRSP
is all it took.

TSA Shuts Down Airport, Detains 11 After "Science Project" Found

mikesum never forget 1-31-07 (537 comments)

Never forget the lessons of Boston and Aqua Teen Hunger Force. "It had a very sinister appearance. It had a battery behind it, and wires." If it's not an American flag, it most be a bomb.

Apple Balks, Finally Relents, At Possible User Queries of Dictionary App

mikesum If you mean did not relent, then yes (259 comments)

From TFA ,"The list of omitted words includes some which have utterly non-objectionable senses: ass, snatch, pussy, cock, and even screw." There is just so much crap involved with the app store, when the FTC come down on Apple it will be well deserved, unless they manage to bride their way out.

mikesum writes "February 13 was Haiku's big day at Google, and we can say with a good degree of confidence that the Haiku Tech Talk was quite successful. We had a very special guest for this event: former Be Inc. CEO Jean Louis Gassée, not only joined us at Google for our presentation, but also gave a few words of support and encouragement for our project. It was great to have JLG's presence, as well as that of the several ex-Be engineers who showed up for the talk. We were also glad to see JAVA for BeOS developer Andrew Bachman join us for this special event. Take a look at the pictures taken during the presentation. Video of the event is now up."
