Facebook Mafiosi Go To the Mattresses vs. Zynga

motherpusbucket Server maintenance (102 comments)

As an addicted MW player, I've noticed that Zynga has strategically scheduled at least 2 long outages to occur during these 'boycotts'. I find that an interesting coincidence.

Cameroon the New Hotbed of Malware

motherpusbucket Wow, another reference to Cameroon! (92 comments)

I have not heard that country mentioned since Eddie Murphy disguised himself as an exchange student from Cameroon in 'Trading Places' back in the 80's.

motherpusbucket Let's not forget...... (832 comments)

There is no sound in space.

Parsec is a unit of distance, not speed

Races as seemingly stupid as Gungans and Jawas would not posess the advanced technology seen in the movies. (I'm talking to you Jar-Jar)

Murdoch Says, "We'll Charge For All Our Sites"

motherpusbucket Re:This is a good thing (881 comments)

Have to agree somewhat with this post. There is a lot of flamebait on this whole article. It's really tiresome. People are using it for their personal 'soapbox' on left/right views.

I stand corrected. Google is returning similar results. It must be a widespread conspiracy :P

Bing Search Tainted By Pro-Microsoft Results

motherpusbucket Some other interesting results... (582 comments)

I conducted some other tests on Bing
'windows worse than osx' returned top results on how OSX is worse than Window$.
'windows worse than linux' returned a similar 'pro Window$' result.
'windows more vulnerable than linux' did the same
It is fairly blatently pro-M$ in M$ vs. OSx vs. Linux type searches.
Anyone surprised?

Web citizens trying to kill Internet Explorer 6

motherpusbucket motherpusbucket writes  |  about 5 years ago

motherpusbucket (1487695) writes "Interesting story at CNN about killing IE6. Ironically, I read it while using IE6, which we are forced to use at work.
'Some Web designers are staging an online revolt against an old version of Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser, which they say is hampering the ability of the Web to move forward in a cool and interactive way.

The designers say Internet Explorer 6, which was released in 2001 and since has been updated twice by Microsoft Corp., is crippling the Internet's potential and slowing down the online experience. They also blame IE 6 for giving webmasters a collective headache, because they have to write special "hacks" into Web code to accommodate an outmoded browser.'"

motherpusbucket motherpusbucket writes  |  more than 5 years ago

motherpusbucket (1487695) writes "Intel has purchased embedded OS leader Wind River for a reported $884M.
The official news release is on both the Wind River and Intel sites.
It will be interesting to see how this fleshes out since Wind River has such a variety of chip vendors that they currently support."
