Hopefully, the "major Russian website" company asked USIS (www.usis.com) to do a thorough background check on Snowden. They have done admirably in the past.

I've done my current job in X time zones ...

mynameiskhan 5 locations, 4 countries, 2 continents, 1 time (167 comments)

This is interesting, I have worked at 5 location spanning two continents and 4 countries. Biannual migration of 5000 miles is in my job requirement. But all the locations are within the same time zone. One irritant is been that my connecting airports are in 3 different time zones.

Lower odds has not stopped people from buying the lottery, and so let them at least make up stories of the apocalypse. Human nature is such that they have more fun hoping for the worst.

Should Google Get Aggressive About Monetizing Android?

mynameiskhan Clever Strategy (168 comments)

Google's strategy involves domination first, monetizing next. What better way to dominate, than giving away something almost for free. Nothing new, but works well.

Of course in the womb. Let us stop the pseudoscience shenanigans with classical music, Mozart, etc. and type away on a keyboard while it rests atop the bulging belly.

China simply proves that it is not as bad a Iran in blocking places where anyone can speak against it. While China gives freedom intentionally, Iran did it by error.

Six strick warning from internet providers for illegal downloads begins

mynameiskhan mynameiskhan writes  |  about a year and a half ago

mynameiskhan (2689067) writes "Major internet service providers will monitor the internet traffic 'to' the customer's computer and will warn them if they download copyrighted materials using peer to peer network. The article says "A person will be given up to six opportunities to stop before the Internet provider will take more drastic steps, such as temporarily slowing their connection, or redirecting Internet traffic until they acknowledge they received a notice or review educational materials about copyright law.". Furthermore, if you appeal the warning you will be required to pay $35 to stake your claim. Have the ISPs have had enough of RIAA pestering or are they siding with RIAA?"

Road sign hacked to warn of zombies

mynameiskhan mynameiskhan writes  |  about 2 years ago

mynameiskhan writes "Although the article states, "Drivers got a chuckle out of an electronic message board in Maine warning of zombies..." it proceeds to say that the city officials were not amused. Someone had tampered with a city safety electronic precaution sign to read, "Warning, Zombies ahead". We are going to see more this in the near future. Many of these signs can be electronically programmed to display messages."

mynameiskhan mynameiskhan writes  |  about 2 years ago

mynameiskhan (2689067) writes "There seems to be at least one government that thinks p2p is fine. Throw the url on to translate.google.com and there is more to this. Of course, the trade association of the entertainment industry in Portugal says the government is twisting the law and does not want to end up send 2 million letters to the violators."
