Jesse Jackson: Tech Diversity Is Next Civil Rights Step
I have a dream that my four little computers will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their case, but by the content of their harddrives.
Favorite way to add capsaicin to a dish:
I agree completely. I tend to stay away from 'extract' sauces, as they usually have a very bad flavor, and are primarily heat. I have been hooked on Lucky Dog Hot Sauce lately. [no affiliation] -- It has roasted peppers and a great roasted garlic flavor to it. It has just enough heat to add a kick, but not so much as to overpower the taste of the original dish that you add it to.
Apple Launches New Legal Attack On Samsung
That has been going on since the advent of language. Walk into a crowded room... "HAS ANYONE SEEN MY KEYS?!?"
Nothing new... :)
How often do you put pen to paper?
I still haven't found a way to feed the log sheets through a laser printer I'm capable of carrying around, particularly when the logs are wet or those infernal Blinky logs.
Came here to say something similar. I typically find a few caches per week, providing it isn't too hot outside.
Walking HECTOR Robot Inspired By Stick Insect
It would be fun to watch them battle it out.

How long before your touchscreen device recognizes your fingerprints, and then transmits audio/video and GPS coordinates to the authorities? I love big brother, as it were.
My phone is ...
Mine is locked for now. I thought I would wait until I am a little closer to the end of my contract to take the risk of bricking it. I have only had it for a month, and do not want to experience the wrath of my wife when I explain to her that my Evo 4G is now a paperweight...

Book Review: Social Engineering: The Art of Human Hacking
Didn't Mitnick do this 8 years ago with Art of Deception. Even the title is sort of stolen. Is there anything new in here that hasn't already been written about by one of the world's greatest social engineers?
If you look closely at the front of the book, you will see a recommendation by Mitnick. Also, if you read the review, it explains how this is different from Mitnick's book.
"Two of the most popular books to date on social engineering to date have been Kevin Mitnick’s The Art of Deception: Controlling the Human Element of Security and The Art of Intrusion: The Real Stories Behind the Exploits of Hackers, Intruders and Deceivers. The difference between those books and Hadnagy, is that Mitnick for the most part details the events and stories around the attacks; while Hadnagy details the myriad specifics on how to carry out the social engineering attack. "
But, thanks for playing!

L0pht phoned from 1998, they want their story back.
Sony Closing 18M CD/Month Plant
I think their department of redundancy department was siphoning funds...
I thought the movie was excellent. I just really enjoy the whole premise. The only disappointing part was that it was 3D. This is the first 3D movie I have seen since I was a kid, and I found it largely distracting. The polarized lenses made it hard to see in some of the darker scenes... and they seemed to give me a headache after the 2+ hours.
I also really enjoy retro video games, so this movie really appealed to me.
Sorry, I read your comment in the wrong context. I thought you were saying that this was a problem, not using it to refute the previous post. :)
Not to mention that for all the time he spent subjectively in the computer world, hardly any time passed in the real world. He was never noticed missing.
They addressed that in the movie. When Flynn Jr. walked in, and said "long time", his dad said "You have no idea." -- Later they talked about the time relationship. Something like: "You can spend hours on the grid, and only a few seconds pass by in the physical world."
The Case For Lousy Passwords
I have been instructing users to use passphrases, instead of passwords. Something like:
"I have 3 children, and 2 of them are boys."
That is actually a lot harder to crack than d5*wnkf8Vis324

Web Bugs the New Norm For Businesses?
I heard about this years ago. I am still waiting on my check from Bill Gates.
I typically read about __ books per year.
I generally have several books going at the same time. I read reference books, not necessarily cover to cover, but enough to get a general idea of what they are talking about... along with fiction books. I have read a few eBooks, but I generally prefer an old fashioned paper book that I can sit down with.
