Ha, ha. I knew someone had to make an anti Apple comment, even if only in jest.

Google Receives Takedown Request Every 8 Milliseconds

oldmac31310 Re:Faulty logic (146 comments)

Well, with GoDaddy's reputation, I would never use them. Not suggesting that you waste money at all. Free hosting could allow you to maintain the relevant documentation of the issue without any need to pay the villains!

But to me it seems reasonable to maintain documentation of an issue - even if it is resolved - with the intent that they don't do the same thing to someone else. But, OK, your call of course. Just curious.

oldmac31310 Re:Shall we play a game? (273 comments)

I am rather unsophisticated and tend to like old crap, so I might just like it! I also like how years later a lot of films say so much more about the time they were made than was obvious at time of release. Even if they weren't even trying to 'say' anything.

Mmm. This has been possible for many years. Pre-fabricated houses, buildings etc. There is no need for a printer. Just pour the damn parts into moulds. Now where's my buggy whip and red flag?

Why did you take the site down? Am I misunderstanding this? Did you voluntarily capitulate? If they were doing something wrong and you were bringing it to light, then why take it down?

Judging by the IMDB entry it has to be a crap film, yet, I am intrigued and will try to find it. Thanks for the tip.

oldmac31310 No board games? (273 comments)

I recently made a board game with my kids. The actual making of the game, the design, concepts etc. were as much fun (perhaps more so) than actually play testing the game. Another unintended consequence of doing this as an amateur is finding out as we played, how ridiculous some of the ideas turned out to be. As it is self made it can be revised constantly so all of the bugs can theoretically be ironed out. But being a board game most of the game play is left to the throw of the die and probably wouldn't interest most people on here. Great fun though.

You are trying to watch television. That is the root of the problem.

Who pays $250 per mo for internet? That is insane. I pay $30 and while not blazing fast, is sufficient for all of my streaming/downloading needs. TV is dead to me. Has been for 10 years or more.

Correcting Killer Architecture

oldmac31310 Re:Hipsters. (98 comments)

Yes, and much of the most beautiful architecture that we revere so much was built with a lot of manual work by men (mostly) who were underpaid (if at all) and pretty much slaves to the monarchs who desired sumptuous palaces. Can't say I'd like for us to go back to that way of building. Certainly much of modern architecture is unforgivable, but that is not to say that all of it is.

Psyco Ex blog takedown

oldmac31310 oldmac31310 writes  |  about 3 years ago

oldmac31310 (1845668) writes "Surely it is wrong that this judge ordered the removal of the site. It is interesting that Morelli so easily complied. But don't be bamboozled by the negative bias of the NBC video and all of the other smoke and hidden mirrors. This site http://www.thepsychoexwife.com/ (now a legal fund link) was doing some good work particularly in the form of the forum (still up) for both men and women — and indeed children (think of the children). What is troubling is that though the blog was run anonymously, we know the names of the people involved. Why? The media? Of interest I hope to /. readers. This blog should stand. Judge Gibbons, eat dirt."
