Dish Network Violated Do-Not-Call 57 Million Times

pete6677 Re:= $912,000,000,000 (230 comments)

Yep. Dish is surely "too big to fail". Large corporations simply cannot be effectively punished. They fund enough political campaigns that legislators will have a definite interest in making sure no truly harmful penalty is ever inflicted on a big company.

PC Shipments Are Slowly Recovering

pete6677 Re:My guess (130 comments)

I wonder how many people who initially bought into the tablet hype realized it really sucks to type a paper on an iPad and switched back to a PC?

Out With the Red-Light Cameras, In With the Speeding Cameras

pete6677 Re:Are speed cameras bad? (335 comments)

Here in America, the government must have the consent of the governed, and the governed have spoken against this type of intrusive overbearing law enforcement for profit. Take your authoritarian bullshit to China where it belongs.

Is Enterprise IT More Difficult To Manage Now Than Ever?

These are the type of companies that buy BMC products. Bloated and expensive must mean it's better, right?

Comcast Forgets To Delete Revealing Note From Blog Post

pete6677 Re:Huh? What does this reveal? (114 comments)

When Comcast-owned MSNBC is pretty much a fulltime Democratic campaign channel, it's easy to get the government to look the other way when Comcast breaks laws.

Former Police Officer Indicted For Teaching How To Pass a Polygraph Test

pete6677 Re:First Post (328 comments)

Sure you can. "Officer, those aren't my drugs". Ever heard of someone being prosecuted for saying this? We would need a full-time "liar's court" to prosecute all the liars.

False reporting is a crime, as in completely falsifying a police report.

The FBI however has much more prosecution power in this regard. They typically throw this charge at someone they would like to indict but don't have anything else on them.

Ferguson No-Fly Zone Revealed As Anti-Media Tactic

pete6677 Re:What a surprise (not) (265 comments)

If anything, Ferguson authorities were not nearly harsh enough in their response. How long did the riots go on, and how many innocent people lost property and/or were assaulted? How many business owners lost their livelihood? What should the police have done, just pulled out altogether? Actually yes, that is what they should have done. Let the animals have Ferguson; just keep them out of the surrounding areas.
