USAF Almost Nuked North Carolina In 1961 – Declassified Document

pjones Our 2000 report on the NC H Bomb at ibiblio (586 comments)

We've had, as some of you who Googled for North Carolina Bomb, our report about the Bomb online since 2000. The new report does have new findings -- our FOIA was never answered -- but our report has a lot of information that I haven't seen in the articles so far including maps and interviews. VCL opening computer labs in the Clouds

pjones pjones writes  |  more than 5 years ago

pjones writes "Say good bye to computer labs as VCL takes the labs to the Cloud.

The Virtual Computing Lab is designed to help spread the access of sophisticated computing resources to K-12 schools, community colleges and universities across the state. MCNC, SAS, Cisco, IBM and Nortel also have backed educational initiatives at the Friday Institute. MCNC operates the North Carolina Research and Education Network, the high-speed backbone linking most of the state's universities as well as community colleges and schools.

NCSU's Virtual Computing Lab (VCL) and IBM are offering the VCL code as a software "appliance" for use in schools to link to the program. (Downloads are available at ibiblio at UNC-Chapel Hill.) The VCL also is partnering with Apache.org to make the software available and to allow further community participation in future development"
