Google To Require As Many As 20 of Its Apps Preinstalled On Android Devices

rhodium_mir Re:not Alright... (427 comments)

Agreed.
Here is what I either want to have or can tolerate on the phone:
1. Phone.

The telephone network is regulated by statist thugs. Why would you voluntarily submit to slavery like that?

It should be tied to whatever the free market says it should be tied to.

Forest Service Wants To Require Permits For Photography

rhodium_mir Re:Yeah sorry, no (299 comments)

Maybe on the east coast. On the west coast that isn't even close to true. In Oregon, for example, the only national park is Crater Lake NP which is a mere 286 square miles while the National Forest Service and BLM manage 22k and 25k square miles, respectively.

I love the self checkouts. I don't want to have to talk to some pretty young lady working the register when it's Saturday night and I'm buying a frozen pizza and a bottle of lube.

>It gets better gas mileage (28mpg) than almost all SUVs

That isn't very good compared to an SUV (Is that really the best that a minivan can get? I thought there would be at least one outlier that could best an SUV):

Those aren't SUVs. They're passenger cars with lift kits installed.

Sony Forgets To Pay For Domain, Hilarity Ensues

rhodium_mir Re:Black hole? (277 comments)

Network Solutions offers kinda-sorta-100 year registration. Technically it's just a ten year registration that they automatically renew for you every ten years, but it still would've saved Sony a lot of trouble in this case.

Network Solutions price chart

20 and 100 Year Domain Registration Service - If the domain name registry of a particular third level domain does not provide for an initial registration term of 20 or 100 years, then Network Solutions will register your domain name on your behalf for the maximum term available at the respective registry, and as long as your domain name is registered with us, we will continue to add additional years to your registration on an annual basis up to the total of 20 or 100 years, depending upon the term you select from the date of purchase.
