Study: Warming doesn't fuel hurricanesslashname3 (739398) writes "A new study by Tom Knutson shows that warmer temperatures will reduce the number of hurricanes in the Atlantic. This is the opposite of what Knutson has warned in the past about the dangers of global warming. The study was published online in the journal Nature Geoscience
In the study he predicts that the number of hurricanes in the Atlantic will fall by 18 percent. The number making landfall in the United States and its neighbors will drop by 30 percent.
So maybe those that say there is no link to global warming but that past storms are just part of natural multi-decade cycle are correct.
And how is this going to affect the insurance industry in Florida and along the gulf coast?"
