Ask Slashdot: Is iOS 7 Slow?

someones Re: Which iDevice? (488 comments)

You could read your line as: Android is delivering performance optimization, where Apple does not.
And, if you ever wrote some code you know "there is nothing to be optimized" is a lie.

someones Remember that bunch of arrogant idiots (778 comments)

Remember that bunch of arrogant idiots working on the desktopsystem GNOME?
Does anyone see the similarity?
"Users are idiots and are unable to use complex things, so lets dumb it down, so every one can use it".

Well see where they ended: Pretty much noone cares about them anymore.

Apple To Launch Largest Stock Repurchasing Plan In History

someones The Apple-Stock is a bubble (282 comments)

They are doing the only correct thing: Buying.

If the bubble bursted, apple would be done for.
If they buy back stock, they:
* increase the stockprices again - stabilizing the apple-bubble.
* lowering the risk of a popping bubble.

Google Apps Suffering Partial Outage

someones Re:In the mean time... (150 comments)

so in the cloud there is no smtp? no imap? no http? ... do you expect things magically turn into cloud transfer protocol or what?

In the cloud you just have MORE potential points of failure: namely all that you have locally and all that run the cloud server, the loadbalancers, ... which is much more points of failure you can ever grasp.

The diffrence is, who gets blamed. But if your boss doesnt see you working while noone in the company gets any work done, dont expect to get a raise too soon.
On the other hand, if you are running all the things in a cloud you most likely dont deserve it anyway.

Korea Tensions Lead To Delay Of Minuteman III Test Flight

someones Re:Are You Kidding Me? (256 comments)

Its all about political image. Noone outside the US cares about the US anymore. Stocktrading is shifting to Euro or Yen and Yuan. With the random Military strikes and random laws in the last 10 years, the US image is going down the drain.

Noone sees the US as the land of endless possibilities. Now its the country of corporate government.
You might want to change your name to United states of Google,Apple,Oracle,...

So unless you want to even more ruin your image, you may not ever shoot at NK.
Unless of course you want to be seen as the country that is trollbait and fell for the big fat troll.
