Sprint Customers Face 5GB Hotspot Data Cap, As of Oct. 2

spammeister Re:jailbreak the phone that is ok under the law (222 comments)

It's just not OK with Sprint (ToS have been shown in the past to not actually be lagally binding) I'm sure the law has better shit to do... But then again it is the US, so my common sense Canadian knowledgebase may be lacking in Reaganomics.

Japan Reluctant To Disclose Drone Footage of Fukushima Plant

spammeister Re:Following the standard instructions (335 comments)

So this training pretty much includes "hide under the desk", "keep lots of water onhand" and "being prepared on the internets"?

What comes to mind was that video I saw of a bunch of soldiers hiding under their desks during the Japanese require secret training for that?

Seriously?...I can make up stuff on the internet as good as the next guy...

Why We Should Buy Music In FLAC

spammeister Unlimited bandwidth! (550 comments)

Not every single person on the planet has the ability to download until they turn blue in the face. Even when comparing a single 320kbit mp3 rip of a CD to the same done in FLAC, the megs really adds up.

FLAC is something 1% of 1% of the population wants and demands. I'm sorry if you audiophiles are butthurt over the lack of the FLAC, go buy the CD.

Budget Triple-Screen Gaming

spammeister Re:Key word here is BUDGET, get it? (133 comments)

Everything other than calling it "budget" is a flat out lie. Maybe if he had talked about it 9 months ago, hadn't posted on a forum that is basically about the bleeding edge, and didn't pretend to be the first person in the world to accomplish such a feat, he wouldn't be getting shit on in every corner of the intertubes where this flaming pile of an article got posted.

Too bad he can't claim in real life that he is the one responsible for so much hate, lest he get bitchslapped.

Canadian Firm Plans 78-Satellite Net Service

spammeister Re:This will be great! (143 comments)

My parents don't even have proper cell phone coverage at their house. One has to climb up a hill, stand on a rock and tilt into a strange configuration to maybe get a connection. Actually I find it qutie freaking awesome when I head down there to visit to not have anything other than TV as a modern distraction.

Swedish Court Orders Detention of Wikileaks Founder Assange

spammeister Re:By all means, question him (298 comments)

The fact that for the past several months abosolutely no proof of anything has been put forth, either publicly or by leaking the information. This should, in any sensible person, raise red flags, alarms and klaxons galore. The whole "jumping to conclusions" bit was said and done with in the Summer.

When DLC Goes Wrong

spammeister Re:Fuck you, developers. (261 comments)

The point is to give a promise to the consumers that there will be DLC shortly, and make them hold on to their copies instead of reselling them, which would bring zero money to the publisher.

Yeah, tell that to activison and EA who require people to pay to access online resources if they buy a game 2nd hand. Oh I'm sure you're not part of the evil corporate machine, but unless you claim you don't support THAT kind of business model, we can assume whatever the hell we want.
