The Pentagon's $399 Billion Plane To Nowhere

synapse7 Re:slight of hand (364 comments)

Having just watched the F-22 demo team, which was fucking amazing, I was curious about this. Seems the F-35 is purposed as a multi-role solution whereas the F-22 is designed for air superiority. The F22 can move the entire elevator surface and apparently with thrust vectoring (and probably some other shit I don't know about) can do some crazy low-speed maneuvers including hover vertically, stall turns and flat spins.

Microsoft Takes Down No-IP.com Domains

synapse7 Re:Sue them for all they're worth (495 comments)

I have no idea the extent of this, but if enough legitimate customers were denied access to their content would this be grounds for a class action suit?

I don't think so, if they could get people to labor for nothing they would. Think of the profit margin.

Microsoft's Cloud Storage Service OneDrive Now Offers 15GB For Free

synapse7 Re:Semi-related (99 comments)

Not sure I've tried flickr, I will look into it. I liked dropbox for this, but I noticed the uploaded photo is usually reduced quality?

Also, my OneDrive is currently showing 7GB total capacity, unless I gather other users.

Microsoft's Cloud Storage Service OneDrive Now Offers 15GB For Free

synapse7 Semi-related (99 comments)

I got notice that Ubuntu cloud storage services are coming to an end. Storage like this is handy for family photos, I'm not sure I would use it for anything else.

Workplace Surveillance Becoming More Common

synapse7 Re:The known effect is ok (195 comments)

We have to use vacation time for sick leave, so people are often at work while sick.. Its great. Also, the building I'm in is scheduled to get a surveillance system I imagine for the president to figure out where to be a larger pain in the ass.

What about all the baseball teams with Native American names, I thought one of the teams was going further to "embrace" the tribal name, but I forget the details...

Code Spaces Hosting Shutting Down After Attacker Deletes All Data

synapse7 Re:The cloud (387 comments)

When you say this had nothing to do with the "cloud" do you mean gases in the atmosphere? If not, what hell is the difference between the "cloud" and amazon hosted services? Also, if Amazon is unable to offer a "real support team" who the hell can?

Chinese-Built Cars Are Coming To the US Next Year

synapse7 Re:Whelp... (431 comments)

My last car was a Saab, I'd wager nearly every part in the car was stamped "GM" and "Made in China". Unfortunately I became very familiar with most of the parts.

New Permission System Could Make Android Much Less Secure

synapse7 Re:Dumb idea. (249 comments)

Why don't you review the permissions from app settings, gives you a break down on time and what was accessed. Google keyboard that I don't used accessed my contacts 50 minutes ago.
