tck44 No wonder we're losing the battle on child porn... (673 comments)

The best part of this story... "Officers discovered the computer would no longer turn on but a year later police forensic experts recovered 64 images of cartoon child exploitation material in the machine’s recycle bin." So, it took officers a year to mount the hard drive in another system, and take a look in the recycle bin.

rubyonrails.org squatted

tck44 (1399467) writes "According to a tweet [ http://twitter.com/dhh/statuses/12538753566 ] from Ruby on Rails' creator, David Heinemeier Hansson, http://www.rubyonrails.org/ was paid up but its registrar allowed it to lapse anyway. Unfortunately, it was quickly scooped up by domain squatters and now hosts only the typical ad page that one sees everywhere. WHOIS information for the domain reveals that it was reregistered yesterday [ http://www.whois.net/whois/rubyonrails.org ]. Meanwhile, users can still use http://rubyonrails.com/ and DHH claims that the situation will be resolved by the registrar."
