Mac OS X 10.6.2 Will Block Atom Processors
Operating systems are pirated more and more often. Apple doesn't expect a huge increase in software sales if they open it up to all machines, they see a piracy increase (as well as an increase in OTHER companies hardware).
Much like iTunes' purpose is to sell iPods and iPhones, Mac OS X is for selling Macs.
Apple's cheapest notebook is $999, much more expensive than a $299 netbook. They don't want that type of competition.
Warner Music Playing Hardball With Rock Band
You are all missing the most important piece.
Rock Band should immediately cease all talks with Warner and switch back to cover songs. I that case they will only need to pay a mechanical royalty of about $0.091 per unit sold per song. The only difference is that a cover band will be playing the songs.
If they choose to do this, Warner has literally NO say in the matter. They cannot deny them the license.
