Google Announces Motorola-Made Nexus 6 and HTC-Made Nexus 9

vivek7006 Re:Also announced Nexus player (201 comments)

I agree, Google isn't going to sell enough. But still its a big deal for Intel, since they have struggled to put their SoC in big name products. They are making progress in tablet space, but this Nexus win adds credibility to Intel's SoC roadmap

And it is powered by an Intel chip. Interesting that Google decided to go with Intel 64-bit SoC instead of ARM. This is a big win for Intel

The Evolution of Diet

vivek7006 Re:Correlation Does Not Imply Causation (281 comments)

So you're saying, eat less, exercise more, and do it for the rest of your life?

You'll never sell that. People want to know what magic food you can eat that will make the bulge from all the cheetos go away. Telling them to eat fewer cheetos only makes people hate you.

Nailed it!

Satya Nadella At Six Months: Grading Microsoft's New CEO

vivek7006 Re:Not that hard IMO (151 comments)

I still use windows 7 MCE as my DVR. Its the only solution which works with CableCard and allows recording HBO and other premium cable. It will be a shame if MS abandons it completely in windows9

Prototype Volvo Flywheel Tech Uses Car's Wasted Brake Energy

vivek7006 Re:mass in motion (262 comments)

Car makers need to think outside the box. An average American car-driver is a fat-ass. Just figure out a way to convert all the potential energy stored in drivers fat ass/belly and convert it to kinetic energy, it will kill 2 birds with one stone

Feds Now Oppose Aereo, Rejecting Cloud Apocalypse Argument

vivek7006 Re:Just Sad (140 comments)

Windows 7 Media Center rocks. Highly recommended. Plus it supports premium cable via cable card. Comcastic douche in my area even give a $2 refund for not using their crappy STB. The only thing I lose is VOD, but I don't give a shit since Netflix and Amazon Prime via Roku is 10 times better than their comcastic service

Google Halts Sales of HP's USB-Charging Chromebook 11 Over Overheating

vivek7006 Screw HP. Acer chromebook based off Haswell rocks (57 comments)

I own both ARM based Samsung Chromebook and the newer Haswell Chromebook. Based on my experience, ARM Chromebooks are now dead on arrival thanks to Haswell. Haswell powered chromebooks are offering better battery life, superior performance and same price point ($249). My Samsung Chromebook struggles while playing 1080p youtube videos, Netflix HD videos and amazon prime videos. If you have more than 4 tabs open, things get excruciatingly slow. Contrast this with Acer Haswell Chromebook, its super fast, even with a dozen tabs open. I have thrown everything at it including 1080p youtube videos, CPU intensive flash based games (for e.g. cricket), it never struggled. Haswell and very soon Baytrail powered Chromebooks make ARM chips DOA as far as chromebooks are concerned.
