Genius is 1% inspiration, and 99% perspiration. Sound familiar? :-) I had an idea for computer systems that could adapt to their environments without programming (the 1% part). After 5+ years of hard work and experimentation, I had it into production! Even got a US Patent for it. So, I think the 1% vs 99% stuff is pretty correct. :-) BTW, if you have a device with a chip in it, disc drive, or flat panel display, that software probably built it! I agree with Linus in that innovation doesn't come at the push of a button. First you need to understand your domain, and then you may be able to start seeing around the corners.

You are, IMHO, and idiot. I have been studying Knuth's work for almost 4 decades now, and am still learning from it. In case you are interested (probably not) it is has a chip in it, I wrote the software that built that chip! Building from his work has given me a US Patent on adaptive systems, numerous technical publications, and such. What can you claim?

Drumph has never, in his life, told the truth! I believe he is lying also about shutting down TPP. It is in the interests of his commercial partners such as Monsanto, Bayer, Big Pharma, et al. Drain the swamp? Hell, he is throwing all of us into the end of the swamp with the quick sand and alligators!

Comment UFOs debunked (Score 1) 85

In the 1960's my father, a well-known and respected physicist, led a government sponsored group of scientists to investigate these reports and sightings. They had top-secret access to all of this information. After a year they concluded that it was all bogus, and all of it had perfectly plebeian explanations.

I just got a ZaReason Strata 8110 laptop with Mint 18. It is a nice system. Works really well. Quad-core i7 processor, 8GB (now 16GB) of RAM, DVD recorder. I'm using it right now to post this comment. I only wish they had 9 cell batteries available - the 6 cell on only lasts for about 1.5 hours. That is my major complaint. Otherwise, it is a really nice machine. It has replaced my 10 year old Dell D630 laptop quite nicely, which was running CentOS 6.8.
